The reclamation work of the Mathi-Komandoo connectivity project has commenced.

This was revealed by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) on Thursday.

As such, providing the latest updates of the Mathi-Komandoo connectivity project underway in Shaviyani atoll to the public, MTCC revealed that they have commenced the reclamation work of the project after the successful completion of the Ihavandhoo land reclamation and shore protection project.

On Thursday, a chartered dredger “Filipo Brunelleschi” was mobilized to undertake the reclamation work at Komandoo island of Shaviyani atoll.

The reclamation work for the land reclamation and shore protection project in Ihavandhoo island of Haa Alif atoll was successfully wrapped up on Thursday.

Under the scope of the Mathi-Komandoo connectivity project, MTCC is required to conduct reclamation operations in an area measuring 16.7 hectares of land.

The company will also be connecting Komandoo and Mathi-Komandoo with a link measuring 200 meters.

The scope of the project also details 1,690 meters of shore protection rectification.

The project is valued at MVR 249.90 million.
