The Hoarafushi Juvenile Justice Unit is being built as a halfway house to provide rehabilitation and treatment for adolescents incarcerated for several criminal actions. The facility is being built on a 10,000-square-foot block of land.
The company in January completed the foundation beam and column work.
The foundation of the building was laid on 29 June 2022 by Minister of Home Affairs Sheikh Imran Abdulla.
Speaking at the groundbreaking function, Minister Imran noted the importance of a Juvenile Justice Unit in reintegrating juveniles who were exposed to crime, back into society and rebuild their lives.
