Two individuals have been injured in a clash reported from Hirilandhoo island of Thaa atoll.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that they received reports of a break-in at a residence in the island at around 10pm on Sunday.
A case of an individual threatening another person using a sharp weapon, in connection with the clash, was also reported to the police.
According to MPS, a 49-year-old and a 43-year-old were injured in the assault and rushed to the Hirilandhoo Health Center for further treatment.
The two individuals were later transferred to the hospital in Veymandhoo island of Thaa atoll, for further treatment.
A 36-year-old and a 32-year-old were arrested in connection with the case.
They are accused of attempting to disrupt the peace within the island community as well as disobeying police orders.
Further investigations are currently underway.
