The project to develop an Islamic Center in Addu City, has been contracted.

Vice President Faisal Naseem attended the signing ceremony for the project, held at the Secretariat of the Addu City Council on Friday.

The Addu Islamic Center development was handed over to Fedo Private Limited during the ceremony.

The center will feature a prayer area that has the capacity of 1,500 worshipers as well as a multi-purpose hall that can accommodate 450 individuals.

Other features of the center include four classrooms, two seminar rooms, an administrative office, an Islamic library as well as a pantry.

VP Naseem visited the land plot designated for the development project, before joining the signing ceremony.

The vice president was in the southernmost city on a brief visit on Friday .

As part of his one-day visit, VP Naseem toured the Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH) and met with senior executives of the hospital, where they briefed him on the progress of the Solih administration’s efforts to enhance healthcare services at the hospital.

Concern over the shortage of human resource , the need to upgrade some services, and other concerns were shared with the vice president , during the meeting.

The meeting also saw VP Naseem stressing on the administration’s commitment to further develop healthcare services across the island nation.

He assured the hospital executives that the administration is committed to continue addressing their concerns.
