The Australian High Commissioner to the Maldives, Paul Stephens has paid a courtesy call on the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Khaleel.
The Australian High Commissioner and the Maldivian State Minister met on Tuesday, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, State Minister Khaleel and High Commissioner Stephens reflected on the enhanced engagements between the two countries.
They also discussed ways to further strengthen the historic bonds of friendship and cooperation especially in the fields of education, defence and security.
State Minister Khaleel and High Commissioner Stephens further expressed their commitment to increase cooperation on issues of mutual importance in the multilateral arena.
State Minister Khaleel was accompanied by Joint Secretary Shiuneen Rasheed, and Desk Officer Saifulla Waleed.
