State Minister Khaleel highlighted the deepened ties of friendship between the Maldives and Hungary

The newly appointed Ambassador of Hungary to the Maldives, István Szabó has paid a courtesy call on the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Khaleel.

The Hungarian Ambassador met with the State Minister Khaleel on Monday.

During the meeting, State Minister Khaleel warmly welcomed the Hungarian Ambassador and congratulated him on presenting credentials as the Non-Resident Ambassador of Hungary to the Maldives.

Additionally, State Minister Khaleel highlighted the deepened ties of friendship between the Maldives and Hungary, particularly in the past two years following high level visits from Minister Szijjártó to the Maldives in November 2022 and Minister Shahid's visit to Hungary this month.

Furthermore, discussions were focused on expanding trade ties, education cooperation and enhancing people to people ties between the two countries.

Additionally, State Minister Khaleel and Ambassador Szabó reiterated commitments to continue the existing cooperation between the two countries in the bilateral and multilateral fora.

State Minister Ahmed Khaleel was accompanied by Secretary, Bilateral Dr. Hala Hameed and Desk Officer Aminath Shaistha Hamdan Zaki
