Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has disclosed that the company has completed 53 percent of the revetment construction of the Shore Protection Project of Addu City Hithadhoo.

Hithadhoo shore protection project was officially commenced by the Minister of National Planning Housing and Infrastructure Mohamed Aslam on 05 October 2022.

The project was contracted to MTCC on 25 November 2020.

Under the scope of the project, protecting the west shoreline by establishing shore protection structures of total 570m is to be completed. Along with dredging of 50x15m area for swimming and a 100m breakwater is to be completed under the project.

The project is valued at MVR 11.6 million.
