The First Couple of Maldives has depart on an official visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed departed to Bahrain on Wednesday.
A delegation of senior Maldivian government officials is accompanying them on the visit.
According to the information made public by the President's Office, President Solih and First Lady Fazna is visiting Bahrain at the request of the King of Bahrain, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
President Solih will be holding discussions on ways to advance bilateral relations between both the countries.
The President and the First Lady are also scheduled to meet with state dignitaries during their visit.
Additionally, a number of memorandums of understanding are expected to be signed during the visit.
Furthermore, a number of high-level bilateral exchanges are also expected during the four day visit.
The President and the First Lady will also attend a luncheon hosted by the King of Bahrain in their honour.
President's Office highlights that these events are expected to strengthen the friendly ties between the Maldives and Bahrain.
The First Couple's trip to the Kingdom of Bahrain will be from 5th October to 8th October.
