Super United Sports (SUS) has landed a spot in the first division of next season’s Dhivehi Premier League, as Da Grande is relegated to second division.
SUS played against Da Grande in the final game of the Dhivehi Premier League qualifications on Tuesday evening.
The two teams were among the teams who had to play the qualifications round after this season’s first division. It was confirmed that one team would be relegated, even when the qualifications began.
SUS beat Da Grande 2 – 0 in Tuesday’s game.
SUS scored both goals in the second half. The goals were scored by Ibrahim Atheeg Hassan and Ahmed Aiham.
The winning team secured a spot in the first division with seven points and in the first spot of the qualifications.
The second spot in the qualifications was secured by Buru Sports Club, who won the Second Division championship as well. Buru secured six points in the qualifications.
The two teams who stand a chance to play in the Dhivehi Premier League of the next season are the two teams that attain the highest number of points in the league round amongst the four teams; SUS, Buru, Da Grande and Club Teenage.
