Buru fights back to hold Eagles in 2–2 draw
Up next, Buru face title-holders Maziya, while Eagles prepare to take on Club Green Streets in their next league fixture.

Buru Sports Club staged an impressive comeback to earn a 2–2 draw against Club Eagles in their Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League clash on Wednesday afternoon at the Galolhu National Stadium.

Eagles looked in control early on, racing to a two-goal lead within the first 20 minutes. Ibrahim Mahudhee Hussain opened the scoring in the sixth minute, before doubling the advantage with his second goal in the 20th minute, putting Eagles in a commanding position.

However, Buru responded with determination. Mohamed Naaim pulled one back in the 38th minute, giving Buru momentum heading into the break. The equalizer came just 12 minutes into the second half, with Abdulla Junaid finding the back of the net to level the score.

Despite chances for both sides in the closing stages, neither team could find a winner, and the match ended in a hard-fought draw.

This result follows Buru’s opening round victory over Victory Sports Club, keeping their unbeaten start intact. Eagles, meanwhile, were handed their first point of the season after losing to Maziya in their first outing.

Up next, Buru face title-holders Maziya, while Eagles prepare to take on Club Green Streets in their next league fixture.
