The Football Association of Maldives (FAM) has penalized Super United Sports (SUS), as the club has decided not to play the match to decide third place in the FA Cup.
FAM had stated that SUS’ management decided not to play the match and had informed FAM of the decision in a document FAM sent to the media. As a result the match set to be played on the evening of Sunday has been cancelled. FAM also stated no team is permitted to pull out from or refuse a match in a tournament that has already been underway.

As SUS decided not to partake in the match it has been decided as a loss, the third place has been given to Green Streets as result. As Green Streets has been decided the victor. Following the final match in Sunday Green will be given the third place medal. The final match is between Maziya and Valencia.
In this year’s second division matches on team had been fined for the same reason. And fined Victory sports was fined following a suspension for being absent for a match.
