The Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure contracted the project to MTCC on 26 August 2019

The project to design and build the harbor of Ihavandhoo island in Haa Alif atoll, is well underway.

The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) revealed that work on the design and build of Ihavandhoo Harbor is “well underway”.

The project has reached 95 percent completion, according to MTCC.

So far, MTCC has completed the construction of the harbor’s breakwater.

Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to dredge and excavate 30,509 cubic meters and construct a quay wall measuring 95 meters.

Further, the construction of a 284-meter breakwater and a revetment measuring 178 meters, is also included in the scope of the project.

MTCC will also be installing navigation lights, streetlights and constructing a paved area of 4,582 square meters.

The project is valued at MVR 59.07 million.

The Ministry of National Planning, Housing and Infrastructure contracted the project to MTCC on 26 August 2019.
