DPL: Valencia climbs up league table after important win against Eagles
Valencia’s win comes despite Eagles having taken the lead in the first half of the game
Club Valencia and Club Eagles went head-to-head on Tuesday
Club Valencia has attained an important win in the game against Club Eagles, as part of the ongoing Ooredoo Dhivehi Premier League.
Valencia breezed through a 3 – 1 victory over Eagles, at a time the latter has secured the second spot in the league table.
With this win, Valencia has climbed up the league table and currently sits at third, with 29 points, expanding the team’s chances to secure a spot in the great four.
Valencia’s win comes despite Eagles having taken the lead in the first half of the game, with Ahmed Rizwan having scored a goal for the team.
Valencia caught up with their opponents at the 64th minute with a score by Ismail Easa.
The winning team’s lead was extended with a second goal by Mohamed Umair. The third goal was scored by Easa as well.
This is the second defeat for Eagles after Mohamed Athif signed on as the club’s coach. The team’s performance and results were noticeably improved under the instructions of assistant coach Ahmed Nimaadh.
Currently competing for spots in the great four are Valencia, United Victory, TC Sports Club and Green Streets.
