First Lady Fazna Ahmed has attended the closing ceremony of the Training of Trainers workshop of the "Power to Persuade: Leadership and advocacy training for women with disabilities" programme.
The first lady attended the ceremony on Tuesday.
The Training of Trainers workshop of the "Power to Persuade: Leadership and advocacy training for women with disabilities" programme was organized by local NGO, Care Society in partnership with the U.S. Aid.
The programme which concluded on Tuesday, sought to train 100 women with disabilities to advocate for their rights and be a part of the development and democratic process of the Maldives.
It was the first of its kind training programme facilitated by people with disabilities in the Maldives.
The programme was attended by participants from the Haa Dhaal, Kaafu, and Laamu Atolls and Addu City, two individuals from each atoll.
Participants who completed the workshop will be mobilized to train 100 women with disabilities in the four regions.
