The First Couple of Maldives has commenced a tour of Faafu atoll.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed departed on the official visit to the inhabited islands of the Faafu atoll on Saturday. They are accompanied on the visit by a high-level delegation of the government.
The President and the First Lady began their two-day visit from Nilandhoo island, followed by Dahranboodhoo and Magoodhoo islands.
The First Couple on Sunday, will be visiting Bileydhoo, and Feeali Islands.
During the tour, the President is holding discussions on matters of concern with community leaders, government officials, institutional representatives, and residents to explore development plans of the government.
The President will also be visiting various government offices and institutions, overseeing the advancement of ongoing developmental projects.
Notably, the President has toured Faafu Atoll Hospital and the airport project site located on Magoodhoo Island, inquiring about the progress and outcomes of these initiatives.
