Maldives State Shipping (MSS) is commencing direct cargo service between Singapore-Maldives and Malaysia-Maldives.

MSS states that these direct cargo services are expected to commence on from July 2022 onwards.

The company shared that they are working on commencing direct cargo services between Maldives and the Southeast Asian ports of Singapore as well as between Port Kelang, Malaysia and Maldives.

MSS also stated that the delivery of the newly acquired vessel for MSS fleet، “MSS Graphene” is expected around July 2022.

The company stated that they will continue to expand their services to other sectors. As such they highlighted that they have chosen Singapore Port and Port Klang, Malaysia to the Maldives as their next trading area.

Managing Director of MSS Captain Abdullah Saeed has disclosed that they have further plans to expand the direct cargo service to the ports of the middle east in the near future.

MSS initially started off its operations with a chartered vessel of 1118 TEUs capacity and later shifted the operations to their own vessel “MSS Galena” starting from November 2021. MSS Galena is a multipurpose container vessel with a capacity of 680 TEUs.

This vessel runs a regular 10-day schedule between Maldives and Colombo.

MSS's current services include; Liner Service, Feeder Operations, Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier Operations, Freight Forwarding and Ship Agency Service.

The services of MSS are available from key ports of the Asian and Gulf region.
