Another round of free-trade talks between the Maldives and Hong Kong will commence on Monday, the Economic Ministry has announced.

The ministry had held serial discussions with corporations that export fish, to find out what businesses need and to better represent them in the three-day negotiations.

The previous round of said talks were held from 26th to 30th September, 2016.

The ministry’s statement, released on Sunday, said that the talks would be held in the Maldives, and that the local delegation aims to facilitate trade in a wide range of sectors – including investments for banking and finance.

The statement also said that the ministry had recently concluded similar talks with China.
