Ambassador of Indonesia Calls on the State Minister Khaleel

The newly appointed Ambassador of Indonesia to Maldives, Dewi Gustina Tobing, paid a courtesy call on the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Khaleel.

Ambassador of Indonesia paid the courtesy call on State Minister Khaleel on Tuesdya, following the presentation of her credentials to the President of Maldives, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

State Minister Khaleel congratulated Ambassador Dewi on presenting her credentials to the President and expressed confidence that the Ambassador would further strengthen the bilateral ties and cooperation between Maldives and Indonesia.

State Minister Khaleel and Ambassador Dewi exchanged ideas on improving cooperation between both the countries on potential areas. These included technical cooperation, capacity building, maritime issues, fisheries, connectivity and trade.

Additionally, both State Minister and the Ambassador discussed common areas of concerns, on climate change and cooperation in the multilateral arena.

The Ambassador assured the State Minister of her commitment to work with the Government of Maldives in strengthening the relations between the two countries, and to foster greater cooperation and people to people contact.

Ambassador Dewi was accompanied by Minister Counsellor at the Embassy of Indonesia in Colombo, Heru Prayitno, First Secretary, Rasyid Mahmuddin and Honorary Consul of Indonesia to Maldives, Jaufar Easa Adam.

State Minister Khaleel was accompanied by Additional Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Javed Faizal and Desk Officer, Ibrahim Haail.
