Vice President Faisal Naseem has concluded his official visit to Bangladesh.

The vice president departed on the official visit on Sunday night and concluded his three-day visit on Wednesday.

He was received at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka by the foreign minister of Bangladeshi.

Upon arrival, the vice president toured the Bangabandhu Museum where he received a guided tour and signed the visitor's book, following which he paid a visit to the Bangladesh-Korea Technical Training Centre (BKTTC), where he was received by the Minister of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Imran Ahmad. He then held discussions on partnerships in developing technical capacity in the Maldives, especially in the areas of healthcare and education.

Alongside visiting many strategic institutions, the Maldivian vice president held meetings with Bangladeshi cabinet ministers, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr A.K Abdul Momen, the Minister of Expatriate’s Welfare and Overseas Employment, Imran Ahmad, the Bangladeshi Minister of Youth and Sports and the Minister of Education Md. Zahid Ahsan Russel and the Minister of Education Dr Dipu Moni.

The vice president also met with the Chairman of the South East Asian Foundation (SEACO) Salahuddin Kasem Khan, who provided the letter offering a scholarship opportunity for two underprivileged Maldivian students at Chittagong University.

He also held a meeting with Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Asia Pacific Dr Md. Sultan Mahmud, who offered a fully sponsored scholarship for one Maldivian student and a partial fee waiver for one more Maldivian student.

VP Naseem then met Managing Director of Kumudini Welfare Trust Rajiv Prasad Shaha who offered a Special Scholarship for five Maldivian students for Bachelors of Dentistry (BDS) and two Maldivian students for Master of Science (MSc) in Nursing.

VP Naseem accepted all three offers for the betterment of the Maldivian society.

The vice president on Tuesday, called on the president of Bangladesh, Md. Abdul Hamid, at the Bangladeshi Presidential Palace, Bangabhaban. The same day, he met with Maldivian students residing in the country.

On Wednesday, VP Naseem called on the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina after having met the Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Zahid Maleque.

Accompanied by a delegation of Cabinet Ministers and high-level officials from the government and the President’s Office, VP Naseem will return to the Maldives on Wednesday.
