Proceeds from sale of "Owning My Thoughts: A Therapeutic Journal" are to be donated to children with special needs.
During a special ceremony held at the Shine Tree Building on Thursday, First Lady Fazna Ahmed launched the book authored by Hawwa Leesha, Chairperson of Maldives-Australia Alumni.
"Owning My Thoughts: A Therapeutic Journal” features positive and optimistic quotes that will encourage readers to document their own experiences for a therapeutic journaling experience.
Designed for people and children over 12 years of age, the book was printed with the help of grants from the Australia Awards and 500 copies of it will be donated to schools and other public institutions.
500 more copies of the book are to be sold commercially, the funds of which will be donated to 10 selected parents of children with special needs.
Speaking at the event, First Lady Fazna shed light on the significance of writing for therapeutic purposes and stated that the book will guide aspiring journal writers.
Further, she noted that it is important to share knowledge and resources with other working professionals in the mental health industry.
