National Football Team to play friendly in Kuredu

Maldives National Football Team is scheduled to play a friendly game against Kuredu Island Resort.
Business tycoon Mohamed Moosa extended the invitation to the national team in order to encourage the team and the game is scheduled for Friday, October 29.
The match will commence in Kuredu Island Resort at 4pm, with Kuredu Island Resort’s team competing against the Maldivian national football team.
The winner of the match will receive a special reward.
The friendly game will be streamed live by RaajjeMV, and will also be broadcast on RaajjeTV.
On Saturday, the national team beat Kulhudhuffushi City’s team 6 – 0, following the official inauguration of the upgraded football field. The friendly match was observed by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
This was the first match the national team played after its defeat in bringing home the “Ooredoo SAFF Championship 2021” title for a third year.
Ahmed Mahloof, the Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment was a part of the amended squad for the Kulhudhuffushi game.
The national team’s next big event is the Mahinda Rajapaksa Trophy or the Four Nations Cup, slated for November to be held in Sri Lanka.
Four countries are competing for the trophy; Maldives, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Seychelles.
The national team will commence trainings for the cup, on Monday night.
