The Institute for Global Success has announced that they are seeking candidates to participate in the Maldives first ever outer-space mission.
Parties interested in participating in the mission must have acquired at least a first degree in engineering in either aerospace, electrical, mechanical, or electronics engineering, or a first degree in computer sciences. Only those applicants who are Maldivian and below the age of 35 will be eligible to participate in the mission.
Interested parties may send applications to the Institute for Global Success (IGS) through their Facebook page before 7 May.
IGS has revealed that they will only be selecting 12 Maldivians to participate in the mission. Those selected for the mission will receive training from professionals in the United States of America through the programme.
Speaking to media about the Maldives' first-ever space mission, CEO of the Institute for Global Success Riffath Mohamed stated that youth who complete the free programme with them would receive an internationally-recognized professional certificate in nanosatellite engineering.
Maldives' initial space mission is being conducted with technical support from the KSF Space Foundation in America. Professionals in the field from NASA, the European Space Agency and Elon Musk's Space X are members of the foundation, and will be part of the island nation's first mission into outer space/
The KSF Space Foundation will be supplying hardware needed to create prototype satellites, training Maldivian professionals in the field and will aid the Institute for Global Success in launching the satellite while conducting the mission.
