ADK alters admittance, operations procedures as Covid-19 crisis worsens
Following 30 Jan, all of ADK's OPD consultations will be conducted online

ADK Hospital has altered their admittance and operations procedure as the Covid-19 outlook worsens for the Maldives.
All of ADK Hospital's OPD consultations will be conducted online beginning 30 January as some staff members have been placed under quarantine, the hospital informs via a press release.
It further details that the hospital will be discontinuing elective surgeries for the time being, and that no patients will be admitted at the hospital until further notice. In addition to this, visitation for patients already admitted at the hospital have also been temporarily put on hold.
Despite major changes, ADK clarified that the hospital would be providing some services as before, including diagnosis of patients and admittance of those brought into the hospital's emergency.
The statement by ADK goes on to appeal for further support and compliance from the public in order to control the spread of Covid-19, advising all those seeking their services to avoid visiting the hospital in non-essential situations, adding that it was recommended for those visiting the hospital to do so with no more than one companion with them.
On Monday, ADK Hospital announced that they would be temporarily closing down the hospital's High Dependency Unit following the detection of Covid-19 from three patients that had been discharged from the HDU after treatment. Services of the HDU were halted immediately for disinfection, and all the employees at the hospital that came into contact with the positive cases have since been quarantined.
