Maldives Police Service (MPS) is searching for two expatriates wanted in connection to two cases of violent altercations.

The two expatriates, native to Bangladesh, are being located in connection to two cases of assault and violence being investigated by the police institution’s Serious and Organized Crime Department.

The Bangladeshi men being sought are Mohamed Bokil Hossain, 31 and Mohamedul Hassan, 41.

Police have urged the public to reach out to the Serious and Organized Crime Department through 9911099 if any information linked to the whereabouts of the two expatriates are attained.

The issue of expatriate workers in the country has long gone unaddressed in the Maldives. However, the incumbent administration has been conducting programmes including a regularization programme for undocumented expatriates in the island nation, as well as repatriating expatriates who wish to return to their homelands due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
