President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has been presented by two books, authored by children.

Titled ‘Vision 2040’ and ‘2040: what would it be like?’, the two books were gifted to the president by the Ugail Foundation, in collaboration with the Housing Development Corporation (HDC), during a ceremony held at the President’s Office on Thursday.

Both of the books presented to the president revolve around the children’s vision of the world in 20 years and were written by a group of children from the “Circle”, which is an educational programme initiated by the Ugail Foundation.

The first book, ‘Vision 2040’ represents the vision of children ages between seven and 10, of what 2040 would hold for employment, and envisions the year as an era of “space travel” and “exciting jobs”.

Secondly, ‘2040: what would it be like?’ features the world, within the next 20 years, as an era of exciting new chapters. This book was written by children aged between 11-14.

The entirety of two books down to the content, cover page, illustrations as well as other components, were created by the children from the “Circle”.

The Ugail Foundation is a local NGO committed to conduct social work in education and training, life skills development, community awareness and human capital development.
