The local man injured in a fire incident on two boats docked at K. Thilafushi is receiving treatment at the ICU in Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH)

A spokesperson for IGMH confirmed to RaajjeMV that two people had been brought to the hospital following the fire incident, which occurred on Thursday evening.

The official went on to say that while the expat worker had now been released from emergency after treatment, the Maldivian man who had sustained burn injuries across 20 percent of his body remains in intensive care.

The Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) said that the fire occurred while refueling a sea vessel docked at the Villa site at Thilafushi island, and that the fire, which started around 4:39pm on Thursday evening, had been controlled in about an hour.
