Maldives reported 44 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday.
While this pushes the country’s Covid-19 case count to 12,854, the cases were confirmed from the 1,516 samples tested within 24 hours.
34 of the cases announced on Wednesday are from the greater Male’ region, while two are from operational resorts and eight from islands under development.
There are currently 1,120 active coronavirus cases in the island nation, including 14 across 14 residential islands.
With an additional 21 recoveries reported, a total of 11,681 patients have recovered thus far. There has been 46 deaths from the virus.
95 patients are admitted at hospitals for treatment, the same as the previous day.
