The country’s innovative and skilled youth community plays a major role in national development and progress, says Vice President Faisal Naseem.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of ‘Unveiling Visions 2020’ at the National Art Gallery, the vice president asserted that the country’s development relies heavily on the skill and innovative capacity of the youth community.
Extending greetings to the country’s youth community on the occasion of National Youth Day, VP Naseem stated that the incumbent administration highly prioritizes the development of human resource capacity and assist the youth community in strengthening their technical and innovative skills.
In light of this the vice president urged the country’s youth to utilize their golden years constructively and strive to become valuable members of the Maldivian society.
During Thursday night’s ceremony, the vice president launched the official website of the Maldives Artist Community (MAC).
Further, he presented commemorative plaques, certificates and cash prizes to the top four artists and met with the talented artists behind the artwork featured in the contemporary art exhibition while touring the exhibition and inquiry on the artwork.
Organized by the Maldives Artist Community, ‘Unveiling Visions’ is a contemporary art exhibition being held annually since 2016 and this year’s exhibition featured paintings from 53 local artists.
Maldives celebrates the National Youth Day every October 22, since President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih made the declaration in December 2019.
