An additional patient has succumbed to Covid-19 in the Maldives.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that the 90-year-old local man passed away at 1:25am on Monday, while receiving treatment at the Hulhumale’ Medical Facility (HMF).
This is the 34th death to Covid-19 in the Maldives.
The island nation has confirmed a total of 9,724 Covid-19 cases since March. However, with over 8,000 having recovered thus far, there are currently 1,424 active Covid-19 cases in the country.
107 patients are admitted at hospitals for treatment.
While the country saw a surge in daily new cases from July, there has been a gradual decrease in cases for a little over a week now. Patients requiring treatment at facilities has seen a decrease as well.
