Sri Lankan Airlines is set to resume operations to the Maldives, upon the reopening of the island nation’s borders in July.

The airlines’ ticketing agent in the country, Inner Maldives revealed that they will resume scheduled flights to the Maldives the day borders are to be reopened, on July 15.

Managing Director of Inner Maldives and the airlines’ General Sales Agent in the Maldives, Mohamed Firaq told RaajjeMV that the flights are scheduled to begin on July 15, and will be operated between Malé and Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Flights will operate on three days, Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday on a weekly basis, said Firaq.

The regularity of flights will increase in accordance with the number of passengers booking seats, revealed Inner Maldives.

Sri Lanka is to reopen its borders to international travel during August upon which Maldivians who wish to travel to the neighboring country will be given the opportunity to do so.

Firaq revealed that flights will increase once other nations open up borders.

Arrivals will be subject to PCR testing in Colombo.
