Former President Mohamed Nasheed has headed to Sri Lanka.

The former President’s visit to Sri Lanka comes just ahead of the no confidence motion on Parliament Speaker Abdullah Maseeh, scheduled for the 27th of this month.

He arrived in Sri Lanka in the early hours of Sunday.

His Party, Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) had not revealed any information regarding the trip.

Raajje.mv understands that his visit is primarily about the no confidence motion on the Speaker. He is scheduled to meet Parliament Members from MDP and will leave Sri Lanka on the 27th.

His last visit to Sri Lanka was on January 29th. In this trip, Nasheed had met members of the advisory committee, national congress and general members of the Party.
