Vice President Faisal Naseem has noted that mutual cooperation is required to strengthen the country’s emergency response services.

This was done during discussions held regarding enhancing emergency response relating health issues, on Friday.

The discussions were held during a virtual meeting held between Vice President Faisal Naseem and relevant stakeholders on Friday evening.

The online discussion revolved around a variety of relevant topics such as overcoming the difficulties currently facing the provision of emergency health services as well as minimizing the response time for health emergencies without having to hinder service quality.

The vice president highlighted that emergency health services provided to pregnant women must be prioritized.

Further, he noted that it is of utmost importance to strengthen and enhance the country’s emergency response throughout the outlying atolls as well.

This he said, can be accomplished most efficiently through joint efforts of all relevant regional institutions.

Participants provided recommendations to address the topics raised during the meeting and reiterated the vice president’s remarks regarding mutual cooperation to reach solutions.

Friday’s meeting was joined by the Minister of Gender, Family and Social Services Aishath Mohamed Didi, senior representatives from State Trading Organization (STO), Aasandha Company and other health institutes.
