Maldives reports 56 new Covid-19 cases
56 cases out of 979 samples tested in 24 hours
Include 27 locals and 29 foreigners
The country’s Covid-19 total has risen to 1,829

Maldives has reported 56 new Covid-19 cases.

The National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC) spokesperson Mohamed Mabrook Aziz revealed this at Monday night’s Covid-19 press briefing, noting that over 979 samples were tested in 24 hours.

Mabrook said that the new cases include 27 locals and 29 foreigners. 26 of the locals and 25 foreigners are connected to previously confirmed cases, while there are five independent cases.

With this, the country’s Covid-19 total has risen to 1,829. There are currently 1,333 active cases in the country.

A sixth Covid-19 related death was reported earlier on Monday.
