Tree Top Hospital has provided treatment for a total of 28 Covid-19 patients within a month since it was allocated as the country’s National Covid-19 Treatment Center.
In a statement released on Sunday, the hospital noted that it has successfully completed one month of service in Covid-19 treatment, without any fatalities.
The 180-bed capacity hospital was converted into the national Covid-19 treatment center after an agreement with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on April 26 and the hospital made the announcement via a press conference on May 1.
As such, the hospital noted that June 6 will mark one month since the first Covid-19 patient was admitted for treatment and since then, they have successfully treated 28 patients.
The positive patients were referred from various quarantine facilities operated by the government, through state-run Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
This includes 25 adults and three pediatric cases and there are currently 13 Covid-19 patients receiving treatment at Tree Top Hospital.
The “expert multi-disciplinary team” of doctors, medical officers, specialists and nurses have been working on a round-the-clock basis to care for the patients in various stages of the virus, said the hospital.
Further, it noted that five patients were in critical cases out of which two were required to be placed on ventilator support.
They have now recovered and within the past month, the hospital’s accomplished team has also carried out necessary surgical procedures for Covid-19 patients, among several other treatments, reads the statement.
Expressing pride in the team’s “tireless efforts” working in the frontlines to provide “quality” healthcare as part of the national response, Tree Top expressed gratitude to all government stakeholders especially the Ministry of Health, the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC)’s Technical Advisory Group (TAG), Covid-19 Management Advisory Team and IGMH for their cooperation and assistance to the hospital’s efforts.
Tree Top’s board of directors are “honored” to serve the nation during such a critical period and join the hospital in conveying utmost gratitude to all frontline workers fighting determinedly against the infection, said the hospital.
