26 Maldivians stranded in Thailand, have been repatriated.
While their repatriation was announced earlier on Monday, National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC)’s spokesperson confirmed their arrival on Monday night's Covid-19 press conference.
The 26 individuals were repatriated via the national airline, Maldivian, flight that flew to Bangkok on Monday morning.
They are to have purchased tickets for the flight, and will be quarantined for 14 days and tested for Covid-19 prior to release.
The Maldivian airline flight left Velana International Airport with 15 Thai nationals and had transited at Colombo, Sri Lanka to pick up 63 others.
The Royal Thai Honorary Consulate in the Maldives said that this is the fourth and the last repatriation flight for Thai nationals from Maldives and Colombo.
While the Maldives borders have been closed since March, a total of 349 Thai nationals have been evacuated from the Maldives amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
