The 800-bed labour quarter in Hulhumalé Phase II, has been completed.
The facility was constructed by the Housing Development Corporation, together with the China State Construction Engineering Corporation Limited.
At Tuesday night’s press briefing at the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC), spokesperson Mohamed Mabrook Aziz said that the facility was constructed under Chinese government aid.
The facility has 800 beds with four prefabricated steel structures as well as one mess hall, kitchen and two toilet blocks.
The ‘China State Labour Quarter' was completed in 22 days.
