Authorities are still looking for one of the seven expatriate workers who has been missing after testing positive for Covid-19 during random sampling.

While authorities had previously said that there had been issues in locating the seven individuals after their samples came back positive for the virus, on Monday they said that only two are still missing.

National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC)’s spokesperson Mohamed Mabrook Aziz at Tuesday night’s press briefing said a sixth individual has been located and added that this is Case 594.

As per the Health Ministry's Covid-19 Dashboard, this is a Bangladeshi national and he tested positive on May 5.

Further, Mabrook said that two individuals that tested positive from the Villimalé Detention Center, Cases 1063 and 1062, are contacts of this individual; these are Bangladeshi nationals as well.

He said that the two were kept under isolation at the detention center, as they are contacts of Case 594. They all resided in the same living quarters.

While the NEOC officials were questioned on why details of the individual that is still missing has not been disclosed, Mabrook said that this can only be done by the director general of public health after police officially declares that they cannot be declared.

NEOC had sought police assistance in locating the missing individuals.

As per protocol, the director general will publicize personal information of those that do not cooperate with authorities under the powers granted to her by through the public health emergency.
