A pregnant woman who tested positive for Covid-19 has been moved to Tree Top Hospital (TTH).

Covid-19 taskforce’s spokesperson Mohamed Mabrook Aziz revealed this at Wednesday night’s press conference at the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC).

The woman was admitted at Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) when she was tested for the virus. Her sample was taken as part of random sampling.

Noting that she was admitted at IGMH two days prior, Mabrook said that her test results came back positive on Wednesday.

He added that she has since been moved to Tree Top Hospital, and that her condition is stable.

TTH is being used to treat Covid-19 patients since Sunday, for at least a 90-day period.

A total of 618 people has tested positive for Covid-19 in the Maldives thus far. While 20 have recovered, there have been two Covid-19 related deaths.
