Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid and his Hungarian counterpart, Péter Szijjártó, discussed the challenges fased in combating Covid-19, on Tuesday.

The two ministers held a telephone conversation, and shared their views on the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and the challenges faced in combating the spread of the virus.

Shahid also briefed his counterpart on the impact of the pandemic in the Maldives, as well as the measures implemented to contain the virus.

He further commended the strong measures taken by the Hungarian Government to control the spread of Covid-19.

While the Maldivian minister also highlighted on the economic and financial aspects of the pandemic in the country, both leaders agreed that the ongoing global health situation could only be normalized through collaborative efforts by the international community.

Earlier on Tuesday, Shahid also spoke to his counterpart from Bahrain, where both parties discussed the challenges faced by their respective countries due to Covid-19 pandemic.
