The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has completed the harbor construction project in Villingili island of Gaaf Dhaal atoll.
Upon the completion of the project, the harbor, in Phase Two has been opened to the island community.
The company was tasked by the Ministry of National Planning and Development with constructing the harbor in August 2019 and it was completed during April 2020.
Under the Project, MTCC dredged 7,985 cubic meters, constructed a breakwater measuring 346 meters and a bridge measuring 30 meters.
Further, the project also included the installation of harbor beacons and was valued at MVR 10.6 million.
Dubbed as the leading marine and land transport provider in the country, MTCC has undertaken several harbor development projects across various islands over the years.
