Water and waste management project requires EIA for multiple islands
The EIAs are for the Provision for Water Supply, Sanitation, and Solid Waste Management Project
The government withdrew a loan from the OPEC fund for international development to fund it
The Ministry of Environment and Energy states that they require parties to conduct EIAs for five islands in Haa Dhaal atoll and seven other islands

The Environment Ministry has called for those willing to conduct environmental impact assessments (EIA) for a project to bolster water supply, sanitation, and solid waste management.

The Provision for Water Supply, Sanitation, and Solid Waste Management is funded by the government for which it withdrew a loan from the OPEC fund for international development.

An announcement from the Ministry of Environment and Energy states that they require parties to conduct EIAs for five islands in Haa Dhaal atoll: Nellaidhoo, Kumundhoo, Makunudhoo, Vaikaradhoo, and Nolhivaram. The bid for these projects are to commence on 11th May.

It released another on the following day for Holhudhoo and Maafaru islands in Noonu atoll, Makurathu and Inguradhoo islands in Raa atoll, Kendhoo in Baa atoll, Gaafaru in Kaafu atoll, and Gan island of Laamu. The bid for these are to commence on 14TH May.
