11 Maldivians in Indonesia are to be evacuated on Friday.
Covid-19 taskforce spokesperson, Mohamed Mabrook Aziz revealed this at the daily press conference on Thursday night.
He said that foreign ministry has facilitated the repatriation of 11 Maldivians stranded in Indonesia, adding that they will arrive in the country on Friday.
A number of Maldivians stranded abroad as well as medical students have been brought back, through chartered national airline flights as well as foreign assistance. There have been repatriation flights from Bangladesh, Nepal, Malaysia and India.
All returnees are being quarantined for a 14-day period and tested for coronavirus before release, since March 21. Five returnees have tested positive thus far, and three have recovered.
The spokesperson also relayed the ministry's message on a Maldivian national in Saudi Arabia, a story being circulated on social media. He said that authorities have been able to contact the individual, who he said has been diagnosed with a bacterial infection and is currently on antibiotics.
