Authorities have identified 903 individuals through contact tracing for the Covid-19 patients discovered in capital city Malé thus far.
Speaking at the press briefing on Monday afternoon, spokesperson for all things Covid-19, Mohamed Mabrook Aziz revealed that a total of 903 contacts of active cases have been identified through authorities.
He added that while a total of 4,139 samples have been collected thus far, 3,834 have turned negative and test results are pending for 245 samples.
While 15 new cases have been discovered so far on Monday, the total has reached 67.
Mabrook went on to reveal that there are 152 places currently under monitoring, including 10 islands.
The islands under monitoring are:
- JOALI Maldives Bodufushi resort and construction site,
- Thuraakunu, Haa Alif,
- Ihavandhoo, Haa Alif,
- Uligan, Haa Alif,
- Thakandhoo, Haa Alif,
- Hoarafushi, Haa Alif,
- Maarendhoo, Haa Alif,
- Nolhivaram, Haa Dhaal
- Hirimaradhoo, Haa Dhaal and
- Vaikaradhoo, Haa Dhaal.
Other locations include:
- Greater Malé Area,
- Maldiviana Safari
In addition, three individuals have also been released from the quarantine facility in Villivaru island.
Speaking at the press, Dr. Nazla Rafeeq added that contact tracing is proceeding swiftly for all active cases.
