Four individuals have been arrested in Maafushi island in Kaafu atoll with suspected narcotics.
Police revealed that arrested are all males, of 35, 40, 47 and 49 years of age, while the elder three were taken into custody at around 1:45 am on June 8, based on information received by the police intelligence.
While they were arrested from the east side of Maafushi island, police said that a bottle suspected to be alcohol was discovered from the area where they were arrested.

The 35-year-old was arrested on June 9, also in an operation by the police intelligence and Maafushi Police Station.
Police said after seeing the officers, the individual had thrown a cigarette pack into the sea, which was retrieved and opened in his presence. Police revealed that this pack contained 31 rubber packets of suspected illicit narcotics.
While the Maafushi Magistrate court has issued a 10-day remand for the 40-year-old, 12 days were given to the rest.
Maafushi Police Station is currently investigating the matter.
