Direct contacts of footballer Fellaini test negative, released from isolation
 
Fellaini was in Maldives from 8-12 March. He tested positive for Covid-19 on March 20th.
 
They were under isolation at Velidhoo Island Resort.
 
Two samples taken from each person tested negative

Three locals that came into close contact with former Manchester United player Marouane Fellaini - confirmed positive for novel coronavirus (Covid-19) following his vacation to the Maldives - have tested negative for the disease and have been released from quarantine.

During the National Emergency Operations Centre's (NEOC) daily press briefing held on Monday night, spokesperson for the government's Covid-19 taskforce, Mohamed Mabrook Aziz stated thatthe three people under isolation after coming into contact with Fellainihave been released earlier that day. They were released upon both samples taken from each person tested negative.

They were under isolation at the facility established at Alif Alif atoll, Velidhoo Island Resort.

Fellaini arrived in the Maldives on March 8 and left four days later. The footballer tested positive for Covid-19 on March 20th. He had vacationed at One&Only Reethi Rah resort. The resort was placed under monitoring on March 11 after a suspected case was discovered.

There is a total of 12 people under isolation and a total of 853 people under quarantine in the Maldives.
