Covid-19: 49 quarantined persons test negative

The Maldives began placing all inbound passengers under a mandatory 14-day quarantine on March 21st.

49 individuals under quarantine have been released upon testing negative to Covid-19.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) made the announcement via Twitter on Saturday.

They state that samples taken from 49 individuals under quarantine at Fun Island Resort have tested negative and have since been released.

The individuals were sent home after spending 14-days under quarantine, upon return to the Maldives.

During National Emergency Operations Centre's (NEOC) daily press briefing held on Friday night, spokesperson for the government's Covid-19 taskforce, Mohamed Mabrook Aziz instructed families of those released from quarantine to send only one person to pick them up.

The Maldives began placing all inbound passengers under a 14-day quarantine on March 21st. There are currently a total of 832 people under quarantine.
