Male' City Council made the announcement today

Local food trucks in Male City shutters in compliance with the Maldives' State of Health Emergency.

According to a notice issued by Male' City Council, all local food trucks in the city will also be closed off as per the Health Protection Agency's (HPA) directive to close off all cafés and restaurants in the Greater Malé Region for public dining.

As such, all local food trucks have been shut down as of midnight on Saturday.

While local restaurants, cafés and all food outlets are to close their doors for public service from 00:00 hours of Sunday onwards, take-away and delivery services are still allowed.

The suspension will last until further notice, said authorities.

The Maldives has taken several measures to curb the spread of Covid-19 in the country, with public gatherings being banned alongside authorities urging citizens to stay home.
