Local TT side departs to China

Table Tennis National Team Players
The local table tennis team has departed to China to take part in the Asian Championship. The Championship will be held from the 9th to the 16th of next month.
The team is made up of four female players and three male players. Aminath Shiura Shareef, Aishath Rafa Nazim, Fathimath Jumana Nimal, Aishath Fadhwa Rasheed, Moosa Munsif Ahmed, Mohamed Zeesth Naseem and Mohamed Shaffan Ismail all will undergo one week of mandatory training before the Championship.
TT Association President Ali Rasheed and National Team Coach Chamindha Rodrigo had also departed with the team.
The team will face against provincial level players from Nanjing as part of the one-week training.
TT Association noted the assistance of Chinese Embassy in the Maldives and the Ambassador His Excellency Wang Fu Kang in arranging the training week.
Based on the performance of this tournament, Maldives will be granted the opportunity to participate in next year’s World Championship.
