Covid-19: Beijing Urban Construction Group donates electronic face masks to MACL

Discussions are underway regarding the situation of Maldives and China, with the government’s Cabinet of Ministers

Renowned Chinese construction company, Beijing Urban Construction Group (BUCG) has donated 50 electronic face masks to the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL).

During a ceremony on Wednesday, the masks were received by MACL’s Acting Managing Director Moosa Solih.

Speaking to RaajjeMV, the company’s Managing Director, Hassan Areef revealed that the donation will be used by staff at the frontlines of the company’s services.

This donation comes at a time the Chinese Ambassador to Maldives, Zhang Lizhong has revealed that discussions are underway to extend further aid to the government and people of Maldives.

As such, discussions are underway regarding the situation of Maldives and China, with the government’s Cabinet of Ministers.

As China continues to extend assistance to the Maldivian government in several ways, the Maldivian government has also extended aid to the people of China, having donated one million cans of tuna.

While the pandemic surfaced in China during December 2019, the country has gone far in controlling the spread of the disease, the World Health Organization (WHO) commended the government’s efforts to control the outbreak, recently.
