MOE Viber Group showing that journalists had been removed
All media included in the Education Ministry’s media viber group has been removed from the group.
The group was created to easily communicate with the media. When questioned by Raajje.mv about the decision, Education Ministry media official said that the media were not removed but rather that the group was deleted. The official said the Ministry had not been using the viber platform for some time.
The media official said in future all communication will be carried out through email and will send all necessary messages to all media.
The decision came after questions were posed regarding a teacher who had molested a student in Gaaf Alif Dhaandhoo Island. Journalists questioned whether the Ministry was covering up the case.
However, none of the staff of the Ministry in the viber group had responded to the question. The Ministry officials also had not answered the question when contacted.
